-Tells Lawmaker To Concentrate On Legislative Activities

-Reduce Controversies

The Isu Clan Solidarity Assembly,ICLSA has criticised the member representing Orlu State Constituency in the Imo State House of Assembly, Hon. Ikenna Ihezuo, over his recent comments against the immediate past Chairman of Orlu Local Government Area, Pastor Chris Mbarie.

The group, led by Comrade Peter Nwosu, described Ihezuo’s remarks as unwarranted and accused the lawmaker of lacking the moral standing to question Mbarie’s performance in office.

In a statement, the group described Ihezuo’s criticism as “a typical case of the pot calling the kettle black,” while challenging the lawmaker to publicly account for his own achievements since assuming office.

The group said, “Ihezuo lacks the moral right to question Mbarie’s scorecard, considering his abysmal performance as a lawmaker. How can Ihezuo accuse Mbarie of building houses in Owerri, Bayelsa and his village without telling the public how he got the money with which he built hotels in Owerri?”

The group also challenged Ihezuo to explain his relationship with his former boss, Eburuo, a former Commissioner for Lands, whom he reportedly served as a Special Assistant.

“Let him also tell Isu people his achievements since he was elected as the member representing Orlu State Constituency in the House of Assembly instead of raising dust and playing to the gallery,” the group said.

The Isu Clan Solidarity Assembly further argued that although Mbarie is not from the Isu Clan, it is believed that his performance in office compared favourably with that of Ihezuo.

According to the group, Mbarie “did far better for our people” than Ihezuo, whom it accused of allegedly creating controversies rather than focusing on effective representation.

The group advised the lawmaker to concentrate on using his current position to serve his constituents and contribute meaningfully to the development of the area.

“It is unfortunate that all Ihezuo is known for is getting involved in one controversial issue or another, from allegations concerning his marital affairs to allegations that he sponsors anti-people bills and motions, among others,” the statement added.

The group urged Ihezuo to focus on legislative responsibilities and deliver tangible benefits to his constituents rather than engaging in public exchanges with former local government officials.
