– Fixes Date For Son’s Burial
In a surprising twist of events Emma Okafor alias Agujiegbe, who recently threatened to commit suicide to protest what he described as abandonment by a top politician who allegedly failed to fulfill the agreement they reached after the service he rendered has fixed a date for the burial of his son who died a day after he was arrested and detained by the police at the instance of the politician he accused of abandoning him.
Agujiegbe, who lamented his son’s death in a short message he posted on his social media platform said, “This is my beloved son Clinton Chibundu Emma Okafor (Agujiegbe) who died a day after I was arrested and kept in detention for almost 10 days. I learnt about his sudden and mysterious death in the court yesterday and I was granted bail today. I am deeply saddened and grieved. I am short of words. I don’t know what to do. I need your support and prayers. I want to bury him in the next two weeks. I want all of you to remember me and my family in your prayers. He was 25 years old before sudden demise. May the Almighty God grant his great soul peaceful in his paradise in Jesus mighty name Amen”.
Recall that Agujiegbe, recently accused a prominent Imo Politician(Namewitheld) of reneging on the agreement they reached before and after the 2023 senatorial election.
Agujiegbe claimed to be the first person to set his structures across the state prior to the senatorial election in 2023. In an audio recording that circulated on different social media platforms, he stated that, prior to the election in 2023, the Politician called him from America and later invited him to his house when he came back. and pleaded that he supports his senatorial ambition. This, he said, made him to throw his weight behind the senator.
According to him, “when the Politician eventually won the election, he invited me to his house again and asked me what I wanted from him after commending me for a job well done. I told him that all I wanted was a car and financial empowerment which he promised to provide for me. It is therefore disheartening that uptill date, he has not deemed it necessary to fulfill any of the promises he made based on the agreement we had and despite all the life threatening risks I took to ensure his victory before, during and after the election amidst the enormous prevailing security challenges.”
He expressed dismay that the Politician has since then refused to give him the opportunity to reap the fruits of his labour, pointing out that Governor Uzodinma raised and empowered all those who worked for and with him when he was a senator.
“I have officially written to some prominent sons of Orlu zone. I am also saying this for a larger audience to hear how he has made my life miserable and meaningless.”
