–  Urged To Explain Involvement In Botched Sale Of Chapel’s Vehicle

Members of the Imo State Correspondents’ Chapel, Imo have accused the Commissioner for Information and Strategy Declan Emelumba of imposing his stooge as Chairman of the chapel despite his alleged involvement in the botched  sale of their vehicle.

A member of the Correspondent’s Chapel who does not want his name mentioned said the correspondents are fuming over the imposition of one Collins Osuji who was indicted alongside Chinonso Alozie, the former correspondent of Vanguard Newspaper who was removed and sacked by his employers for selling the vehicle donated to the correspondents chapel by Governor Hope Uzodinma.

“We are wondering why Collins Osuji who was accused and indicted over the same offence for which Chinonso was removed and sacked by Vanguard Newspaper is the best person Emelumba deemed fit as a replacement for Chinonso, as Chairman of the Correspondents’ chapel in Imo State.

“This, implies that Emelumba is not only allegedly privy to the botched fraudulent sale of the chapels vehicle but had an agreement with Chinonso, which the latter failed to fulfill. Hence, he was removed.”

“Alozie’s action for which he was removed as Chairman and also sacked by Vanguard Newspaper, has dented the image of the correspondents’ chapel. That is why we have decided that any person involved in the fraudulent deal including Collins Osuji, must face the music. On this note, we have vowed not to recognize or work with Collins Osuji, as Chairman of Imo State Correspondent’s chapel.

“The bus which Emelumba gave to Collins Osuji, as far as we are concerned, is a personal gift and not in his non-existent capacity as Chairman, Imo State Correspondents’ Chapel. If Emelumba wants to donate a vehicle to the chapel on behalf of the state government, he knows that the right person he should give it to is George Onyejiwa, the Sun Correspondent who is the Acting Chairman”.
