Former lawmaker of the Imo State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Lawman Duruji has donated a patrol van to the Nsu community Security Watch as well as a standard borehole for water supply to Umuoparaku village in the community.

The gesture according to the Lawmaker is to support and strengthen the operations of the community security outfit and motivate them to put more efforts in curbing criminal activities across Nsu community.

Rt. Hon. Duruji who represented Ehime Mbano State constituency  in the Imo State House of Assembly confirmed that, “I donated the patrol van to enhance the security architecture of my community considering the prevalent security challenges they are facing. The government is doing their best but we need to compliment their efforts by getting involved in security issues at the community level”.

Speaking on the completed borehole project which was equally donated to the Nsu community, he submitted that, “access to portable water is part of the challenges we’ve been facing, and building a standard borehole for the supply of portable water is part of what we can do to ameliorate the plight of our people. I have the strong conviction that these little efforts will go a long way in adding positively to the community and we are assuring our people of better things to come”.

In his reaction, a prominent stakeholder in Ehime Mbano, Chief Mayle Osuji commended the legislator for thinking towards that direction, adding that it is a welcome development.

On his part, Barr. Emmanuel Ogu said: “we need more of these individual efforts by those who it has pleased God to place the funds at their disposal. Community policing is a veritable aspect of security, especially in the present saddening circumstances our country is forced into. I join in saying that God should bless Hon. Lawman Duruji”.
