A frontline Imo State political leader and 2015 PDP gubernatorial aspirant, Chief Barr Humphrey Anumudu from Ezinihitte ward in Mbieri, Mbaitoli local government area has finally dumped the People’s Democracy Party (PDP) for All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA) the party he described as the Igbo core political party.

In his address, the Owerri zonal APGA chairman, Chief Roland Aham Okoro said he had received Chief Humphrey Anumudu for and on behalf of the state Chairman Barr. Sir. Peter Ezeobi and the party’s National leadership. He described the coming of Chief Anumudu as the best thing that could happen to the party. Chief Aham Okoro also stated that Barr. Anumudu is a straight forward politician who believes in party politics. He also informed Chief Anumudu that APGA has remained the Igbo political party.

Speaking at the event, the former majority leader of Mbaitoli legislative council, Hon. Ugochukwu Nnah said joining APGA by Chief Humphrey Anumudu has remained a spiritual thing so as to ensure party victory in 2019. He said he will collaborate with Chief Anumudu to ensure the partys success.
Others who spoke at the occasion which held last Tuesday, 5 December, 2017 at the Mbieri home and residence of Barrister Humphrey Anumudu include, Chief Chris Anene, Chief George Nkworji (AGPA State Publicity Secretary) as well as former commissioner for Women and Social Development and APGA IMHA Owerri North candidate in 2015, Chief Mrs. Ann Dozie and Hon Uche Onyeagocha who commended Chief Anumudu for taking a bold step to join APGA.
Responding, Chief Barrister Humphrey Anumudu said his decision to leave PDP is personal and owing to series of unmitigated crisis and impunity associated with the leadership both at the National and Imo State level.

He promised to add more value and flesh to his new found political party (APGA). According to him, the party should now expect his capacity to attract well over 2500 Imo youths to the party. More so, every youth vying for IMHA in 2019 under APGA is blessed as he is going to buy forms freely to them as well as provisions of LGA election ticket for all the youths aspiring for the chairmanship position from the party.
Chief Anumudu also promised to remain an APGA member for life and urged all the party leaders in APGA to speak with one voice.
