Distinguished Senator Ifeanyi Godwin Ararume, a two time Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and governorship aspirant on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2015 general election, will celebrate his birthday tomorrow, amidst loud ovation and encomiums by his fans, supporters admirers and foot soldiers.

 

The Ishiebu, Isiala, Mbano, born political gladiator and mobilizer, who was Chairman, South East/South-South, Senators’ Forum and Chairman Senate Committee on Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC), was also instrumental to the enactment of several people oriented laws by the senate and siting of NDDC projects in Imo State.

According to Dr. Goddy Esom Obodo, Prince of the Oil Kingdom, Chief Emma Iroka, former T.C. Chairman of Isu LGA who recently resigned as co-ordinator of State Development Council (SDC), and Hon. Stanley Nzekwe, one of Ararume’s confidants, eulogized the virtues of the senator, whom they described as one who is passionate about the plight and welfare of suffering Imolites, whose fortunes have dwindled considerably, within the past six years. “He is adept at nurturing relationships and maintaining political structures. He is humane, charismatic, and possesses excellent leadership qualities, hence people willingly, identify with him”.

Others who spoke to this reporter, described Senator Ararume, as “a leader who appreciates, understands and makes genuine efforts, to address the needs of his followers, without minding cost”. They unanimously, urged Imo people to identify with, and key into Senator Ararume’s political vision and mission for “total liberation from the bondage and strangle hold of poverty, hardship, retrogression, ineptitude, corruption, insensitivity and lack of transparency in governance.”
