Orlu, Orsu, Oru East federal constituency, is presently agog with jubilation, as Chief Edwin Iheanacho (Okuenyeremba’s) name has been finally submitted to the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), as the Federal House of Representatives candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for the area, after the protest and horse trading that trailed his victory in a free, fair and credible primary election, held on 6th October, 2018.

Chief Felix Idiga (JAFAC), who came third in the election, had petitioned the election Appeal panel, claiming that there was no properly conducted primary election in the area, and that the electoral officers who were expected to conduct the election did not turn up. The panel, in their verdict, simply said “not upheld and went ahead to submit Chief Iheanacho’s name as the APC’s authentic candidate for Orlu, Orsu, Oru East federal constituency for the 2019 general election.

With this development, Chief Iheanacho, an American trained security expert is ready for the battle with candidates of other political parties.

It will be recalled that Chief Edwin Ihenacho who won overwhelmingly polled 28,828 votes to emerge as the party’s candidate, while his closest opponent, Chief Ihezuo polled 15,300 votes and Chief Felix Idiga came third position.
