An American based Mrs Regina Ude, has extended her motherly care to the Imo state branch of the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Owerri with the aim to contribute her quota towards improving their standard of living.

Mrs Ude, a humanitarian and a social worker in the United States of America (USA), while speaking at the occasion disclosed that her visit to the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Imo state branch, was aimed at fashioning out ways in which the home could be assisted in order to make those children in the home, to have brighter future. She maintained that her passion for children, most especially the down-trodden ones, has continued to drive her to ensure they become useful in the society.

Mrs Regina Ude, who is the Social Director, Children Ministry in her place of residence, stated that, her visit has provided her with firsthand information on the needs and challenges, facing the orphanage home. She revealed that on her return to the United States of America, arrangements will be made to send items, which she has noted, to the Nigerian Red Cross Society, Imo state branch so as to compliment what governments at both Federal and State levels are doing towards uplifting the standard of living of the children in the home. She maintained that her soft spot for the vulnerable and needy children will continue to make her invest more on children, both here in Nigeria and in the diaspora.

She called on the government and other well spirited individuals, not to relent in ensuring that children and kids who are not fortunate enough to be trained by their parents, receive quality training and welfare which she said, will benefit the society at large.
