Nwokie, Founder Of Ikukuoma Foundation Bags Rotary Community Service Award

The founder of Ikukuoma Foundation, High Chief Summers V.C Nwokie (Ph.D) was, on the of September 11, 2021, honored with another prestigious award from Rotary International. 

The honorary award was bestowed on him by the Rotary Club of Aladimma at the Royal Installation Ceremony of her 36th President and inauguration of her 2021/2022 Board of Directors.

The event which held at the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) Secretariat, Owerri, Imo State, was the second time that Dr. Summers is being  specially honored by the Rotary International within the year, for his exceptional and dedicated commitment in the area of selfless humanitarian services which they termed as legendary.

Presenting the award, a former President of the club and member of the Board of Directors of Rotary Club, Dr Jude Ohanele, highlighted the benefits of Dr. Nwokie’s efforts in human and community development and extolled his visionary expertise. Citing some of the landmark projects he is personally financing which include, rural roads, a state -of-the-art hospital, aside the litany of other philanthropic gestures he has continuously undertaken.

The award was received on his behalf by the Director General of Ikukuoma Foundation, Comrade Julius Nnaji, who expressed joy that the efforts of his boss is being appreciated by a brand such as Rotary International. He equally brought a message of appreciation as expressed by Dr. Nwokie.

“This is the second time I’m being honored by Rotary International, it gives me joy that my little efforts are appreciated and that spurs me to do even more for the betterment of mankind. Though I live outside the shores of the country, but my heart is always with my people. I will never relent in my efforts towards making lives better. This is my resolve. Thank you for this great honour, it’s appreciated from the depth of my heart”.

Dr. Nwokie equally supported the Rotary Club of Aladimma with a princely sum of three hundred thousand naira (300,000.) to aid them in the various projects which they are currently undertaking.

The event was graced by many eminent personalities including Rt Hon. Emeka Ihedioha GCON, Hon. Prince Ibe Anyanwu (Obolobo),

Hon. Solomon Anukam, 

Several presidents and elite members of Rotary International as well as other invited guests.
