During his official declaration at an enlarged meeting of the PDP local government executive committee, the former UNICEF consultant, expressed his readiness and commitment to serve the constituency.

This is even as the PDP Chairman of Umuhu Ward, Chief Ernest Ojiegbe and his executives, have appealed to the leadership of the party in Aboh Mbaise LGA to support Dr. Ugochukwu, noting that, he has the capability to deliver democracy dividends.

“My dear leaders of our great party, permit me to thank you for the good job you have been doing for our party over these years. It is not an easy task to run a political party at the grassroots and prepare them to win elections, we appreciate you. I am here to officially declare my intention to vie for the ticket of our party to represent Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala Federal Constituency at the Federal House of Representatives”, Dr. Ugochukwu stated.

“I have remained a loyal and supportive member of PDP, consistently for over several years. I have assisted in so many ways in building our party at the grassroots level. It is important also to mention that I have facilitated several schemes, such as free healthcare,  empowerment, road rehabilitation for the benefit of our party members and the people at large, both in Aboh Mbaise Ngor Okpala local government areas”.

Speaking further, Dr. Ugochukwu who currently works as World Health Organisation, WHO Consultant, averred that “this election, from what I understand, is going to largely depend on the marketability, loyalty, competence and popularity of the candidate. I can assure you without being immodest that I have the capability and capacity to win the election and make our people proud with quality service and representation”.

Reiterating his loyalty to the party and the former governor of Imo State, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, Ugochukwu who was accompanied to the meeting by the entire leadership of the party from his Umuhu ward said his loyalty “remains absolute. There is no need emphasising my loyalty and total submission to the political ideology and leadership of our Leader, His Excellency, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha CON, KSC. I will respectfully defer and consult with him on all issues. He has paid his dues. He brought a lot of development to our people and with the legacy he left in the National Assembly,  he has opened the channel for our Constituency to be recognised. The same applies to the party. I promise that I will not disappoint”.

The Chairman of PDP Aboh Mbaise LGA, Hon. Max Nnawuihe, in his response, expressed satisfaction with the address of his guest. He reiterated the determination of the party to conduct a transparent and rancor-free primary election and assured that the party, under his leadership, will live upto the expectation of its members.

Speaking also, the PDP Chairman of Umuhu Ward, Chief Ernest Ojiegbe who brimmed with smiles during the meeting, without mincing words, put his seal and that of his executives on the ambition.

Hear him, “We are here to present our son and leader to the party at the LGA level to declare his ambition for the Aboh Mbaise/Ngor Okpala Reps seat. You can see he is bright and very ready for the job. He has been a loyal and committed party member for a long time. We believe in his capacity because of what he has been doing for the people over the years.
