Okorocha, Associates Jittery As Uzodinma May Resume Implementation Whitepaper On Looted Funds

There are speculations that, following the open romance between the former Governor of Imo State, Rochas Okorocha and the governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP, Senator Samuel Anyanwu (Samdaddy) who the former attended his birthday celebration recently, the incumbent Governor of the State, Hope Uzodinma, may have decided to resume implementation of whitepaper report,a product of a panel of inquiry set up by the Emeka Ihedioha administration.

A Government House source who does not want his name in print, told our correspondent that, ‘’Okorocha incurred the wrath of Governor Uzodinma when he, not only attended Senator Anyanwu’s birthday but also subtly pledged support for him, as regards the Nov, 11, election.

He further said that, ‘’Governor Uzodinma was completely disappointed with the way and manner Senator Okorocha spoke at the event because he, (Uzodinma) had, after several meetings brokered by some Northern political and religious  leaders, agreed to give Okorocha some reprieve and event, went as far as promising to appoint some of his loyalists into his cabinet, which he did.

“He was therefore surprised and disappointed that Okorocha who he had decided to give soft landing had the guts to disparage him and his administration in the public, thereby throwing his weight behind another candidate for the November, 11, election, contrary to the initial arrangement they had after several meetings.

“That is why the Governor has now decided to ensure that Okorocha, his family and associates are made to refund all the funds, properties and other assets looted or misappropriated during Okorocha’s 8-year tenure as Governor of Imo State’’.

A political pundit who spoke to our reporter, said, before the current development which made Okorocha to incur the wrath of Uzodinma, Imolites had been wondering why the tempo with which the Governor approached the recovery process suddenly slowed down, to the extent that nothing was being said or heard about it.

It was also rumoured that Okorocha had allegedly entered a plea bargain with Uzodinma hence all the issues that bordered on corruption, embezzlement and misappropriation of funds were swept under the carpet.
