The former Chairman of Imo State Council of Traditional Rulers, His Royal Highness, Eze Samuel Agunwa Ohiri, who was abducted by gunmen in his palace about two weeks ago has been rescued by operatives of the Imo State Police Command.

The Public Relations Officer of the Imo State Police Command, SP. Henry Okoye said, the traditional ruler’s rescue was made possible by the effort of the Commissioner of Police, Danjuma Aboki and his gallant officers in collaboration with other security agencies.

The PPRO further stated that hot chase of the kidnappers by his men made them to abandon the Monarch, who was subsequently rescued unharmed in an undisclosed forest.

Okoye, said, the command has been working tirelessly in collaboration with other security agencies towards ensuring that Eze Ohiri is released and some arrests have been made.

“To the glory of God he has been released, after a hot chase on his kidnappers at the forest by operatives of the Command’s Anti kidnapping unit.

“The Command will continue to work towards stamping out all forms of violent crimes in the State. As CP Danjuma reaffirms the Command’s resolve to work harmoniously with the Military and other security agencies in stamping out violent crimes in the State”.
