–        Urge Federal, State Lawmakers To Present Performance Details

The Legislative Performance Assessment Committee set up by the Orluzurumee Youth Assembly to analyze the activities, performance and score card of those representing the zone at the state and federal levels with a view to holding them accountable to the people whose mandate they are exercising in trust, has officially commenced duty.

A release signed by the Chairman of the Committee, Comrade Nnamdi Achi and Secretary, Com Desmond Ugwumba, as Secretary.

The release, a copy of which was made available to Nigeria Watchdog Newspaper stated that, “following the inauguration of the Committee by the leadership of Orluzurumee Youth Assembly official letters have now been dispatched to all concerned offices, including the offices of Distinguished Senator, Honourable Members of the House of Representatives, and Members of the Imo State House of Assembly representing various constituencies within Orlu Zone.

These letters formally notify the lawmakers about the establishment of the Legislative Performance Assessment Committee, its mandate, objectives, and the scope of the assessment exercise.

As part of the evaluation process, the Committee has respectfully requested detailed legislative and constituency performance records from the affected lawmakers. The requested scorecards include:

• Bills sponsored and co-sponsored

• Motions, debates, and legislative interventions advanced on the floor of the House

• Committee assignments and leadership responsibilities handled

• Oversight functions and constituency advocacy initiatives carried out

• Constituency projects facilitated or attracted

• Empowerment programs and youth-focused interventions

• Community development and infrastructure initiatives

• Stakeholder engagements, town hall meetings, and constituency consultations

• Media/public accountability reports and communication records

• Any additional records showing measurable impact and service delivery to the people

The Committee emphasizes that this exercise is not politically motivated, neither is it targeted at witch-hunting any individual or group. Rather, it is a people-oriented initiative designed to strengthen democratic accountability, encourage effective representation, and promote transparency in governance across Orlu Zone.

Speaking on behalf of the Committee, the Chairman, Comr. Nnamdi Achi, stated that the people of Orlu deserve to know the level of legislative performance and constituency representation being delivered by those elected into public office.

The Committee further announces that while awaiting official responses and feedback from the lawmakers, members of the Committee will begin a series of media engagements and radio appearances across Orlu Zone to educate the public on the purpose, progress, and activities of the assessment exercise.

Ndi Orlu, community leaders, youth organizations, civil society groups, professional bodies, and other stakeholders are also encouraged to submit constructive feedback, observations, and verifiable contributions concerning the performance of their representatives.

The Committee assures the public that all submissions and assessments will be treated with professionalism, neutrality, and integrity.

At the conclusion of the exercise, a comprehensive Legislative Performance Report and Scorecard will be publicly presented for the benefit of Ndi Orlu and future democratic accountability.

The Committee calls on all stakeholders, the media, and the general public to support this historic initiative aimed at promoting responsive leadership, people-oriented governance, and sustainable development across Orlu Senatorial Zone.
