Obowo LGA, home town of the legend Dee Sam Onunaka Mbakwe PhD, is currently witnessing what could pass for an earthquake or better still, a hurricane tsunami, following the entrance of Chief Victor Onyebuchi popularly known as Aririerimba, a seasoned politicaL juggernaut from Umuariam, into the race for Obowo State Constituency.
A sibling of the famous political iconoclast, late Dr EJK Onyewuchi, Chief Victor Onyebuchi is a household name, having served as appointee of almost all elected and appointed Council chairmen and Governors of Imo State. Chief Onyebuchi has over the years acquired requisite hands on deck experience needed to move Obowo LGA to higher pedestal of socio-economic development having as a young vibrant man acted as the Executive Chairman of Obowo LGA in place of Dr Raymond Emerenini who joined his colleagues on a trip to China during then Governor Achike Udenwa administration. A noble but humble political actor, the Action Alliance AA, House of Assembly candidate for Obowo State Constituency, Hon Chief Victor Onyebuchi had at different dispensations, served three different Council chairmen as Supervisor for Health under Raymond Emerenini, Supervisor for Health under Barr. Eric Nwokorie and Supervisor for Works under Paschal Okenze from Amuzi when he distinguished and endeared himself into the hearts of all Obowo sons and daughters as a consummate, patriotic and compassionate politician.
Outside politics, Aririerimba Obowo, Hon.Chief Victor Onyebuchi is a renowned entrepreneur,farmer and event programmer who deals on ceremonial outfits or costumes for governments, by procuring and supplying wrappers and other branded uniforms. He is also the sole consultant for the Association of Local Government Areas LGAs, of Nigeria, ALGON and has for decades partnered with them in service delivery enhancement. He is usually the number one name for political gladiators searching for credible and competent coordinators in Obowo, Okigwe South, Imo North and the state at large. It was in this capacity that he successfully coordinated and subsequently delivered Senators Benjamin Uwajumogu and Patrick Ndubueze long after he coordinated the late Maurice Ibekwe of Okwele holdings fame,who later represented Okigwe North in the Federal House of Representatives before he fell out with then president Olusegun Obasanjo. It’s equally interesting to know that as the Personal Assistant, PA to former APP, UNCP and ANPP chairman in Imo State,Dr Sir EJK Onyewuchi, whose last political outing was to baptize Senator Hope Uzodimma as Godsent Governor, Chief Hon.Victor Onyebuchi is a thorough bred and dependable politicians whose records of service in all his appointments have remained unblemished and unquestionably transparent.
Above all Hon.Onyebuchi is a rugged and dogged grassroots mobilizer and strong man of Obowo politics as baptized by no other person than the legendary Dee Sam Onunaka Mbakwe himself .For over 32 years Aririerimba Obowo has been involved in the mobilization of the grassroots for different political actors and gladiators.
