The motion moved by the member representing Ahiazu Mbaise/Ezinihitte federal constituency in the federal house of representatives, Hon Emeka Martins Chinedu which prompted the lower chamber of the national assembly to pass a resolution last Tuesday for thorough investigation of the invasion, siege, unlawful arrest and wanton destruction of properties in five communities of Ahiazu Mbaise LGA has elicited mass reactions from indigenes and residents of Orlu, Orsu and other areas in the  zone who have expressed concern over the inexplicable silence of their state, national legislators and other political leaders in the face of escalating insecurity that has resulted  in unprecedented loss of human lives and destruction of properties worth millions if not billions of naira.

They wondered; why the incident at Ahiazu which had not happened before was brought to the attention of the national assembly by their representatives without delay while the  mayhem that had been consistently unleashed on most of the communities in Orlu, Orsu, Oru West, Oru East, Njaba and other troubled parts of Orlu zone in the past one year and beyond have  neither been commented on nor given desired attention by those who claim to represent the zone at different levels.”

“The people are wiser and have taken note of the insensitive, insincere and uncaring disposition of their leaders who are more interested in feathering their nests and enriching themselves at the expense of the people. Very soon, the chicken will come home to roost.

“The day of reckoning is fast approaching when they will shamelessly come to solicit our votes and support for themselves and for their stooges. It is then that we will tell them in very clear terms that their game is up.”

It would be recalled that the federal house of representatives had, sequel to the motion moved by Hon Emeka Chinedu Martins asked the Chief of Army Staff, and the Inspector General of Police to, as a matter of urgency, unveil the perpetrators, of the  heinous act, the reason for the invasion and the number of lives and properties destroyed.

The House also expressed dismay that such Gestapo invasion, siege and wanton destruction of lives and property after sporadic shootings is expanding in scope and frequency in the country especially in Imo State.

Hon. Emeka Chinedu while debating with other members on a motion of urgent national importance, expressed concern that Nigerians are increasingly losing hope and confidence in the Nation’s law enforcers due to high-handedness, unethical conducts and total disregard for rule of law and engagements.

This promoted members of the House of Representatives to pass a resolution on Tuesday  for thorough investigation into the invasion, siege, unlawful arrest and wanton destruction of lives and properties in five communities of Ahiazu Mbaise LGA.

The House is worried that such gestapo invasion, siege and wanton destruction of lives and property after sporadic shootings is expanding in scope and frequency in the Country especially in Imo State, south of Nigeria.

The federal lawmaker also expressed support for the fight against “unlawful activities or any form of criminality, but must be anchored on rule of law as enshrined in the 1999 constitution, especially when human lives and properties are involved.”
