Chairman of Nigeria Democratic Congress (NDC) in Ikeduru Local Government Area Chief Ugo C Ugo, has expressed disappointment that despite being the lawfully elected chairman of the party for Ikeduru LGA at the Congress conducted at the party’s State Secretariat on May 1 2026, he was not formally informed about the party’s Federal House of Representatives Primary Election scheduled to hold today.

Ugo, who strongly condemned the attitude of those he described as impostors parading themselves as officials of the party, said he will seek legal redress against any person who fraudulently presents himself as the Ikeduru LGA chairman at today’s primary election.

He said, “It has just come to my notice that the House of Representatives Primary Election of the NDC in Imo State will be conducted today, and surprisingly, I was not formally informed despite being a duly elected Local Government Area Chairman. This is indeed very ominous. Hence, I want to categorically state that I will drag any person who falsely presents himself as the Chairman of NDC in Ikeduru LGA and his sponsors to court. I will also pray the Court to declare the outcome of the exercise null, void and of no effect because I was the only person that emerged at the Congress as the duly elected chairman of NDC in Ikeduru LGA in line the constitution of our party and the Electoral Act. Let due process, justice and fairness prevail.

It is unfortunate that some persons, either as a result of greed or other ulterior motives, are sowing seeds of discord with a view to engendering rancor, acrimony and distrust that will be detrimental to our party’s overall interest. A stitch in time saves nine”
