A group of traders based in Lagos, who are indigenes of Orlu, Orsu, Oru east federal constituency in Imo State, recently visited Barr Henry Nwuke, who is also a Lagos based lawyer in his office and urged him to declare for their federal constituency seat.

The leader of the group, Chief Celestine Ironunwa said there is no better way and time to collectively show appreciation for what he has been doing for them than to call on him to declare for the Orlu, Orsu, Oru east federal constituency seat, come 2019. He, on behalf of others, pledged to mobilize support for him in that direction.

He recalled how Barr. Nwuke, as lawyer, has always rendered pro bono services to most of them. He noted that nobody from the federal constituency and Imo State, at large suffers any form of unwarranted humiliation, intimidation or harassment from individuals, corporate organizations or government, without Barr. Nwuke coming to the rescue. “Aside his numerous assistance, his track record and life style as a lawyer and as an individual is worthy of emulation. He is always at peace with himself and with everybody around him”.

The group also recalled how they mobilized support for one of their sisters, Barr. Kodichi Orji, who contested the house of representatives seat in Lagos and won and promised to do the same for Barr. Nwuke, by coming home en masse to vote for him when the time comes. They expressed optimism that with the assistance of like minds in the state, he will emerge victorious.

One of those who spoke at the occasion was Chief Raphael Okoroji an Alaba international market based trader.

In his response, Barr. Nwuke assured them that he will make a statement on their request in no distant time as they are not the only group persuading him to contest for the federal constituency seat. He also said that, he used this Christmas period to visit and interact with the people and felt their pulse. “I am presently consulting and will soon make a statement to that effect, after due consultations”.
