The member representing Nwangele state constituency at the Imo state House of Assembly Hon Sir Amarachi Iwuanyanwu, has been named the Chairman House of Assembly Committee on Housing and Urban Development.
According to findings, the committee will oversee Owerri Capital Development Authority (OCDA), Housing and ENTRACO.
When contacted, Sir Iwuanyanwu expressed appreciation to the Governor and the Speaker for the Committee Chairmanship assuring that he would do everything possible to ensure that the sector is repositioned in the state.
The youthful Iwuanyanwu said that the Committee which he is to chair is very important in the transformation of the state in line with the Rebuild Imo agenda of the state Governor, Rt. Hon. Emeka Ihedioha, adding that he would give his best to the Committee job promising to bring his wealth of experience as an Estate magnate to bear in the discharge of the duty as according to him, the importance of the sector demands that every effort must be put in place to assist the Governor achieve his good intentions for the state especially in the housing, Urban sector of the state.
Sir Iwuanyanwu, however observed that Imo state Housing and Urban sector needs total overhaul stating that it was an important sector in the state that has the capacity to generate revenue for the state and employment for the teeming Youths, calling on all hands to be on deck to achieve the desired intention.
