The mother of Daniel Kanu, of the famous 1 million man march for Abacha, Ugoeze Beatrice Nwamanna Kanu, who died recently will be buried on Friday November 30th, 2018.

A release signed by Prince Daniel Kanu, stated as follows, “this is to announce the passing on to glory of my dear mother, Ugoeze Lady (Lolo) Beatrice Nwamanna Kanu, the wife of HRH Eze (Dr) M.O. Kanu (Ochiriozuo 1 of Arondizuogu), Ejezie Autonomous Community, in Ideato North LGA, of Imo State.

Ugoeze (lady) Beatrice Nwamanna Kanu who passed on at the age of 76 years was born in January 1939 to the family of Mazi Ukoli Udorji and Ma Ekeodu Okoli of Ndi Emenike Kindred in Ejezie Autonomous Community in Arondizuogu, Ideato North LGA. She was the last of the four children of her late parents. She was christened Nwamanna because she was born shortly after the death of her father, and was raised solely by her widowed mother until she got married.

The release further stated, “her husband H. R. M. Eze M.O. Kanu married her in 1955 and got wedded at St. Michael’s Anglican Communion, Cathedral, Aba, Abia State. After several years of childlessness, Ugoeze Kanu gave birth to 5 male children and 2 females namely Obioha (Late), Uche, Geoffrey, Emeka, Nnanna, and my humble self, Prince Daniel Kanu (immediate past APGA Gubernatorial aspirant) and Pastor Chukwunonyerem. She was equally blessed with 37 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren.

Her funeral arrangement has been scheduled to take place as follows: service of songs shall be held in her honour at St. James (Anglican Church) Asokoro Abuja on Saturday 24th November, 2018 by 3pm. Also, on Wednesday 28th, November, 2018, another service of songs will be held in her honour at St. Michael’s Cathedral Church, Aba by 1pm and at 3pm, a flag stop at her Umungasi residence in AbaAbia State; on Friday 30th, November 2018, her body shall lie in state at her husband’s palace, Ejezie, Arondizuogu by 8am, followed by a burial service at St. Philip’s Anglican Church Ejezie Autonomous Community Arondizuogu, Ideato North, Imo State by 10.30am .Interment will take place after service in her husband’s compound.

Late Ugoeze Beatrice Kanu was a loyal, loving and caring mother who remained submissive to God and her husband for 58 years in marriage. Dignitaries from all walks of life are expected to attend the funeral to honour and say farewell to her”.
