“Following wide spread infection of the ravaging Coronavirus presently in Nigeria, the Executive Governor of Imo State, His Excellency, Senator Hope Odidika Uzodinma has directed that all tertiary institutions, primary and secondary schools (public or private) in Imo State including those schools owned and operated by religious organizations, be closed immediately. This is as a result of the rampaging Coronavirus pandemic”.
In a release signed by Prof B.T.O Ikegwuoha, newly inaugurated Hon. Commissioner for Education, the Heads of all the affected institutions were directed to comply with the order of the governor in a bid to stem the rising upsurge in the spread of the pandemic feared to have caught up with the Chief operators of the presidency at Aso Rock Villa, Abuja, who have been placed in isolation to avoid further contacts with the public.
Meanwhile monitoring teams have been detailed to ensure that the directive of the Governor is adhered to without any hesitation. Any school found flouting this directive, will be closed down in accordance with the state governments panic measures to end the endemic scourge.
