Engr Chidi Ibeh, a former Commissioner for Information in Imo State and factional President General of Ohaneze Ndigbo Worldwide has called on the immediate past governor of Imo State, Chief Emeka Ihedioha to adjust his political and administrative style by being more accommodating and less critical of opposing views, opinions and political ambitions, adding that, he should not be the only cock that crows in Mbaise nation”.

Engr Ibeh who stated this in a chat with Nigeria Watchdog reporter said, “Chief Emeka Ihedioha is my younger brother who I love and respect. That is why I advised him to reappraise his ways and learn how to accommodate other people’s views, interest, opinions, dreams and aspirations because a tree, they say does not make a forest”.

“The Mbaise nation is blessed with many highly intelligent, resourceful, focused and ambitious personalities who have what it takes to aspire to positions of trust and responsibility in all fields of human endeavour. It therefore amounts to lack of patriotism for any person or group of persons to attempt to discourage, rubbish or work against such people under any guise.

“That was what I said when I was quoted out of context in some sections of the media. I did not use the word “wicked” as widely circulated”.

“A case in point is that of Sir Basil Maduka an illustrious son of Mbaise who was an aspirant for Owerri Senatorial seat on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP).

“Prior to the primaries some people believed to have been sponsored and mobilized by some individuals went round telling people not to vote for him because according to them, what Mbaise people desire is not Senator but a Governor. That, to me is the height of narrow mindedness. They came to me and I shunned them because I can’t be part of such retrogressive attitude.

“How can other peoples interests and ambition be submerged in the personal ambition of another person. It is absolutely wrong. There should be a level playing ground for all to showcase their abilities for the people to assess, scrutinize and choose based on what they want. This is my stand and will continue to be my stand”.

“I do not subscribe to a situation where one person arrogates to himself the power to decide the limit to other peoples aspiration or the height they can attain to politically, socially and otherwise”.
